Original U.S. WWII French M1866 Chassepot Saber Bayonet Converted To Fighting Knife With Leather Scabbard - Dated April 1868 Flintlocks which is repeated on topOriginal Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic example of just how resourceful the individual can be during combat. We unfortunately do not know the actual history of this converted fighting knife, but it is our belief that an American soldier either purchased or found this bayonet and cut it down. The bayonet itself appears to be dated April 1868 on the spine. The fighting knife itself is in lovely condition and does show signs of wear and
